Xcode editor is very slooow in 7.1 beta 3

After I upgraded to Xcode 7.1 beta 3 it has become more and more slow.

Its almost impossible to work with.

Does anybody else have the same problem and what did you do to fix it?

Its very slow when I type and delete.

Its very slow when I scroll up and down with my trackpad.

Its like a buffer get filled very quick.

Even moving around with the cursor is slow.

I tried to uninstall Xcode and install it again. Still very slow.

Its driving me crazy

Nobody?

You're expecting instant replies? Doesn't work that way.

Anyway, as I mentioned in your other post, the amount of free storage

ram and cpu speeds directly impact xCode's performance. Also, disk

errors can cause sluggishness.

You may want to back down to release tools if betas don't suit your work flow, as they are prone to do that by definition, I think. Of course experiences vary, but as noted, you can help yourself by maxing ram and confirming sufficient free space on your boot drive, etc.

And just as an experiment, take a project that exhibits a slow editor and use the Product menu to apply an option-clean build folder...maybe it's just a matter for a corrupted project index.

I tried the option-clean method. But it is still very slow.

How much physical ram?

How much free space on your boot (SSD?) drive?

Same issue with release version Xcode?

How big is that project?

If you just installed it, perhaps it's tied up downloading docs/etc. in the background?

8 GB RAM

663 GB FREE HARDDISK (not SSD)

No Xcode 7.0.1 works okay.

On of the files have more than 5600 lines, but it also in files with lesser lines.

Everything is installed.

Its like the keyboard buffer get filled to quickly and I have to wait for it to get ready read again.

Just moving the cursor and it stops (wheel turning) moves a little bit (whell turning) and so on.

In that case, it sounds like beta tool-itus, plain and simple. Not much you can do but grin/bear and wait for later beta improvment, I guess.

Is it possible to download beta 2 somewhere?

I just checked https://developer.apple.com/downloads/ and only see b3.

Yes I search with Google but could not find it.

I'm not sure beta 2 will help, but I would like to try.

No, that's not why we're releasing betas... If you hit an issue in the beta, you should collect the informatin that we would need to troubleshoot and fix the problem, and submit that as a bug report (using the Report Bugs link at the bottom of this page). For performance problems like this one, a sysdiagnose report / CPU sample / spindump collected when/while you're reproducing the issue would be the most interesting and important bit of information to attach. Thanks!

I just bought a brand new iMac 5K and installed xCode 7.1 from the AppStore.

Everything was working just fine.

Then i enabled line numbers and code ribbons and it vent absolutly slow.

Disabling line numbers and code ribbons did not help. Stil very slow.

Removed xCode completly and installed it again.

Still very slow.

Apple please fix this problem!!!
