Apple Staff, what is going on with the disappearing TestFlight app?

The number of users reporting TestFlight disappearing is increasing. Can one of the Apple Staff please give us some insight into this (i.e. TidBits, mwhuss, justin.voss, blakeseely)? Thank you.

The TestFlight app is now available in the Apple TV App Store.

Devs, if this is happening to you, please list your OS build number and country.

TF did not yet disappear. DevKit from 2nd batch running the GM version - located in Germany.

Maybe, TF gets removed and AppStore will be available soon (hopefully). We can then get TF from the AppStore, when it is launched. For me a suitable explanation, but just a guess.

TestFlight dissapeared yesterday: GM (13T396) - USA

I confirm that the TestFlight app disapperead in CET Rome as well (AppleStore Account Italy).

TestFlight dissappeared yesterday: Beta 13T5379f - UK

Finland, updated to GM Seed 13T396.

No TF and no App Store.

As real paying customers are getting shipped Apple TV's today in my time zone I would guess that Apple will put the whole rest of the back end live sometime in the next 12 hours, including the App Store. I think they removed Testflight as it was really hacked onto the dev units as it was not a full app install from the App Store, a full install is likely to become available from the new App Store proper.

All things are likely to become very very clear very soon.

GM (13T396) - USA : Test Flight still available

Where did you read that?

Where did I read what? I'll assume you mean that Apple TV units are getting shipped today? I live in Australia, there are plenty of people here who got shipping notifications yesterday to say their items have shipped for delivery today (Friday).

One would assume that Apple will have the back end live by the time the units are delivered otherwise they will receive support calls from each and every non technical end user wondering why their units are "broken" and missing the app store etc. because Apple haven't put the back end live.

The App Store is already on the device. How do I know? Pick an app that already exists on your development Apple TV, and ask Siri to start, run or launch it (I can't remember exactly what I said). The app will launch. If you try launching an app that doesn't exist, Siri will say that it can't find it - an error message. However, if you try and launch the App Store, Siri will try but will say it can't launch it - implying that the app is already there and it found it, but it can't launch it.

Allright, that makes sense, they are rolling out the market version with its AppStore software then.

The TestFlight app is now available in the Apple TV App Store.

Awesome!

Sadly though, I don't see the App Store on my device yet 😁

I don't have the App store... My Dev kit did not come with the USB-C cable. So how do I update? (I did order a USB-C cable from Amazon today, but won't be here until next week.)

I had to 'restore' to the public release of tvOS, recently released. So yes, you'll need that USB-C cable.
