If you can play music on a Theremin player and it plays différant notes just by putting your hand over it it can definetly be put in applications of electronics to make différant command's of the futur electronics devices. for example on a cell phone do things without even touching the screen. on youtube this is what i mean : Leon Theremin playing his own instrument.
