Hello,
Disclaimer: This *could* be a codesigning/security question or it could be a question about running Macs as VMs.
I'm working on a Mac installer that installs an Application and an Internet Plug-In under the current user's home directory. After running the installer, you should be able to go to certain web pages that load our plugin which launches our app which enables you do stuff. It mostly works! Even on 10.10!
But one case where we are running into issues is when the user has their home directory on a NFS network share. In this case the plugin is not getting loaded. Looking at system.log, I can see numerous eye raising messages such as
Nov 5 09:28:30 connect-install-bug.local apsd[49]: Certificate not yet generated
Nov 5 09:28:30 connect-install-bug.local amfid[869]: /aspera/usr/owen/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Aspera Web 3.6.2.111584-6.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Aspera Web signature not valid: 0x186adI can verify the plugin's signature
connect-install-bug:Internet Plug-Ins owen$ codesign -vvv Aspera\ Web\ 3.6.2.111584-6.plugin/
Aspera Web 3.6.2.111584-6.plugin/: valid on disk
Aspera Web 3.6.2.111584-6.plugin/: satisfies its Designated RequirementBut what does that "Certificate not yet generated" mean? And why does "amfid" think my signature is invalid? Is there a check I can run from the command line that would determine if amfid likes my deliverables? I'm able to run the app we deliver which is singed in the exact same way.
If I poke around a little more in system.log there are these messages as well
Nov 5 09:20:26 connect-install-bug.local apsd[49]: Couldn't find activation record in response dict
Nov 5 09:20:26 connect-install-bug.local apsd[49]: <APSCertificateManager: 0x7fdf43c10ce0>: Failed to get client cert on attempt 179, will retry in 900 seconds
Nov 5 09:20:27 connect-install-bug.local apsd[49]: Hardware SerialNumber "VMWQiBqUs09u1gDbL0FWBAGdw" looks incorrect or invalidNot sure if this means my test environment is invalid or what but the bosses keep asking me when I'm going to fix this "bug".
Any ideas, comments or suggestions for further troubleshooting?
Thanks in advance,
Owen
