Custom Video Screen Savers on new AppleTV

Is there any way to add your own video(s) to the Apple TV's screen saver?

I see that this is all fed from a json file found here:

http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/000/Features/atv/AutumnResources/videos/entries.json

Now, I am thinking of hacking a man in the middle DNS to redirect to a list that I define. But I would much rather be able to do this is a more logical and supported way. How about the ability to redirect to a custom json file?

Is there any way to do this under the current firmware?

Thanks for your suggestions.

I don't know but I like what you're doing and very interested in the results you get.

I don't have apple tv but can't you USB over to it and remotely load the filesystem? hex the binary media file and see if there are any unencoded strings you can make sense of? Isn't there a way on boot-up to use some keys to boot into single-user or update mode?

This might help you out

www.radare.org/r

there is a osx binary and github

You might not need to do this. If you go to Settings > General and then click Play/Pause 4 times on About you'll get to settings to Demo mode. If you enable the "Channel" mode, there will be a config URL that you can use to feed info for the screensavers.
