how to unlist my app from having a watch app

My watch app worked well with watchkit 1.0 and my iphone app

but I have been struggling to get the watch app to work with the iphone app with watchkit 2.0

I need to release my app without apple watch support

How do I unlist my app from having an apple watch app so that I may upload it to Apple without issues?

Your help and advice is much needed.

You did not say why you are updating your main app. Why not leave the WatchKit 1.0 extension in?

Apple tends to frown on taking away features that users have already paid for. For example it is not allowed to change an app from Universal to iPad only or iPhone only. I don't know if that applies to watch extensions too but I suspect it might.

A related bug here is that iTunes Connect is spewing warnings saying the WatchOS 1 app is missing on every upload and then sending emails as well to warn again. This happens even if you have a WatchOS 2 app. We didn't "take away" a feature, we upgraded as designed but the uploader is still complaining.

Removing the target for the Apple Watch from your project should remove it from the app when you install it. Is that what you mean? Or are you having some trouble with the App Store?

Sign in to iTunesConnect. Go to your apps, pick the app and create a new version. Scroll down

to the spot where it lists the Apple Watch app. Delete that. Finish the rest of the changes if any

and select save. Upload your new build without the Watch app.
