Converting my app from paid to free.

I've decided to convert my paid app to a free app...with ads.


I don't want users who already paid for the app before it goes free to deal with ads. How would I go about detecting if the app was purchased before it went free?

Push an update and set a flag (example: user defaults), then release your ad version, check for that flag and mark them accordingly.
