Apple Configurator 2 - Profile - Restrictions

Hello All,

Just a quick one , I am a IT Technician for a school and we have recently upgraded to Apple configurator 2 and so far it is working flawless however I have come across one bug which I was wonding if anyone had the same issue?

We created a profile for student iPads and I have set a Restrictions payload and within the settings, it says "Allow users to edit restictions" which obviously we have unticked to prevent them setting their own passcodes. However after we unticked this box and applied it to the blueprint and flushed it to a freshly wiped iPad the restriction opition still shows and users are still able to set a passcode? wondering if this is a bug or if this can be fixed?

Fiinally , apple configurator 2 has worked fine for the IT dept so far and an amazing feature within the profile editor being able to disable setting passcodes is amazing.

Thanks,

Sam

Morning

I am currently working for a school and working with Apple Configurator 2. The issue I believe you are having is due to the iPad not being supervised. To do this you need to click on the iPad and prepare it at the top. Even if you don't have an MDM Server you can still do this. You will need to add your Organisation (School Name) and make sure you tick the tick box for supervising iPads. This will erase the iPad and start it as a fresh iOS so if theres anything on it make sure you back it up. Once the "Hello" screen appears you can then apply your blueprint and profile.

Kind Regards

Chris
