Watch shows red exclamation point on reboot after installation

Download and install ran smoothly, but my watch has now rebooted to a red exclamation point icon with a link to an Apple support page. I've tried restarting the watch by holding down the crown/button several times but my watch seems to be unable to boot past the exclamation point. What can I do?

Sorry to hear you're running into issues. Per the watchOS beta Software Installation Guide:

"In the event your device restarts into recovery, please visit support.apple.com for assistance."

They should be able to assist you further. Thanks!

Same issue here. I contacted Apple Support and they said I would need to take the watch in for repairs. Since there are no ports on the device (aside from the covered port—is that being used do we know?) I assume it will need a replacement. Hopefully they have them in stock...

Did you both add the watch UUID to the Devices section in the Member Center before you started the installation?

same problem is there anything to do about it

I did but having the same issue. From what I can find...looks like it requires a reset by Apple at the hardware level.

Wondering if the genius bar at my local store will deal with this issue. Or is there a seperate developer support I should contact?

Same issue here. Help me!!!

@michaelallenkelso, @SeniorShizzle et al,

I know you probably did, but it's not been stated by anyone here yet. Did you follow the instructions and register the device before sending the profile to the watch and starting the update?

Clearly it's worked for a lot of people, and if updates really are bricking phones, then I'll be a lot more careful with mine in the future. Unlike iphones I think it's fair to say that some dev's dont really have spare development watches laying around! I'm sure some do though.

Yes, yes, yes!!!

Yes! Everything before ran smoothly, including the progress being shown on the watch. My watch seemed fine until after it turned off for the first time

Has anyone found a resolution to this?

I called technical support, who sent me to developer technical support, who sent me to file a bug.

So, I am going to the Apple Store tomorrow to see if there is something they can do.

Apple online chat sent me to my local store who is sending the watch in for repair. Unclear on timing or what their fix will be (replace/flash/etc).

I ran into the same issue and the Watch is now a brick. Have spoken with support which will take one week for appointment with a Genius and one week turnaround time. Not cool! Tried hard re of course.
