I updated my iPhone to 9.0 beta, installed the profile on the watch and updated the Apple Watch to Watch OS 2.0
But now the companion app has problems with the new Watch OS. I can install third party apps with the companion app. But I cannot check in the general settings the software version or other things. The app gives me an allert that it cannot connect to the watch and I should check if the airplane mode is set to off. All the icons of the Apple apps are also not shown in the companion app. There are only these white placeholder icons for them.
I can also not change settings for the app. I checked it with the photos app and the sync album is set. But the app on the watch dont show the photos because I think it cannot read the settings.
This is what I did. Maybe there was something wrong with the update.
- I installed first the latest version of iTunes on my iMac with OSX Yosemite
- Then I installed iOS 9 beta on my iPhone 6 Plus
- I dont know if it is normal but the watch now was in a state like when I got it. It asked me first for the language and then for a pairing with the iPhone.
- I paired now the watch with the iPhone first. After the installation I checked the version and it was still 1.0.1
- I installed now the Watch OS profile on the watch that I emailed to the iPhone, opened the email and clicked on the profile. I choosed the Apple Watch for the installation destination.
- Now I could see the Watch OS 2.0 update version in the companion app. I installed it and everything works fine now
- Then I saw the problem with the companion app. I thought that maybe the iPhone also needs the Watch OS 2.0 profile. I opened the email again, tapt the profile attachment and installed it also on the iPhone. But this was not the problem. The companion app still gives me the same error message that it cannot connect to the watch but it can install and delete third party apps.
Would be nice if someone could help me. Or tell me if it is normal for the beta version.
