Status Bar Shows on iPad but not mobile

So I have run into a weird issue as of late with an app I have been developing. With the new xcode update that happened about 2 weeks ago I think. I have noticed that the top status bar has stopped appearing on mobile but yet on ipad it shows up perfectly.

In my info.plist file I have the status bar to be shown and not be hidden. I also checked the main controller to make sure it isn't blocking any of the views and its not when I check the layouts its just not showing up and displaying it full screen with the status bar hidden.

Has anyone else had this issue.

Is your app in landscape? I think in iOS 9 they started autohiding the status bar by default in landscape mode on iphones.

Yes it is in landscape mode by default.

Pretty sure that is why. They started hiding the status bar in landscape mode on iPhones in iOS 9.

Not sure if you can programmatically show it in landscape...though I'd just go with the flow here if I were you.

yeah I have been trying to override it but I have noticed in many apps that you put into landscape like chat apps like messenger or skype, outlook and mail it all goes away. but on a VERY few like onenote the status bar stays. but now I am noticing all this. I tried a few code changes but nothing is sticking. I think going with the flow might have to happen.

It is possible, that the apps that show the status bar in landscape mode have not been built using the latest SDK yet so iOS is honoring the old behavior to not break compatibility...though there may be a way to force show the status bar in landscape; haven't looked into it.

Unless you seriously feel like the user needs to see the time when using your app, I'd just leave it hidden.
