I am a new developer and had a question about developing. I have an idea to improve on an app that comes with Iphone when you buy one. Is there a way you can code that enhancement onto the existing app? Or have a way you can attatch the change to that core app?

Not possible.
If you have a suggestion for an Apple app, use the feedback channels.
How does the app Swype keyboard work then? They Attach that their keyboard directly onto a messaging app.
That's because Apple provides frameworks to enable third-party keyboards.
So we can alter the keyboard but not the internal workings of the app.
