Waiting for moderation of my last question, it's 9 hours ago now.

I've just rewritten and reposted the above mentioned question, and that question is now both(!) in Draft and visible in this Swift space, at least for me, can everyone see this: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/3909

or can only I see it? Because that question also has the same warning message above it that says it can't be posted until someone approves it.

The thread you linked to doesn't work for me, and comes up with an "unauthorized" error.

Did you use the giant "search and ask a question" box, or the small "start a discussion" link near the top?

I used "start a discussion" for both this (successful) thread and that thread which apparently only I can see here in Xcode/Swift and which is awaiting moderation. I wonder if I would break some rule if I posted a link to a screenshot of that thread/question ...

It's now been 8 days since I submitted a post, and I still see the message that my post requires moderator approval. Is this how it's supposed to be?

It's been two days that my post is awaiting clearance from a moderator. I posted it beause I have a development issue that needs resolution and I'm wondering how long I need to wait. I'm becoming frustrated by this as Apple Developer membership is not free. This is a service I have paid for and I'm unable to engage with as Apple is not provided adequate moderation to move forum discussions along.

I have experienced "a few hours" at most, and the post contained an external link.

It is very probable that a post containing external links are automatically marked as "needs moderation", and moderators do not work hard on Saturdays and Sundays...

If you edit your thread/post to remove the links to non-apple websites, it should be posted without requiring a moderator to approve it.

This also applies to code examples which use NSURL etc... edit the urls to point to apple.com or break the urls with spaces.

If the links are critical for your post to make sense, insert spaces in the urls so that they aren't automatically detected by the forum software, but can be reconstructed.

(The "participation agreement" for the developer forums doesn't specify a policy for user-posted links, but I would assume the policies for links would be similar to those for the general community support forum: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5952, and should be especially carefully followed when bypassing the moderation delay.)

The developer forums are not a service you are paying for, anyone can post here. Apple does not guarantee you will get an answer or even a correct answer. Apple employees are not required to answer questions here, they do so on their own time and willingness.

If you have a serious problem with your code or need a question answered, as part of your membership you have access to the bug reporter and Developer Technical Support incidents.

I'm paying for my Developer license and had mistakenly thought that was neccessary to access the forums. I had the two confused.

You seem to be confused here. I'm not asking them for an answer. I'm asking them to approve my post as it has been several days. Not doing so is not ok. If this forum was created by Apple and about Apple products, they need to provide paid support to make sure that things are maintained. That includes approving posts in a timely manner.

You're asking people who do not exist here, to do something they cannot do. Only the moderators

of these forums can approve or not approve content you post. These forums, unlike the previous

iterations, are publicly available. If you need time sensative answers, use one of the 2 dts tickets

you get each year.
