HomeKit and OS X?

Hi,

I actually wanted to write an App managing my home devices via OS X. After reading the docs I realised that HomeKit is just available for iOS. My question is now: Is there a way to access the smart home devices via OS X App and HomeKit I've not found yet or does someone know if Apple will introduce HomeKit for OS X in the furtue.

Currently, HomeKit is available for iOS only. There is no supported public API to access HomeKit devices from OS X.

I'm sure someone knows Apple's future plans, but that someone is unlikely to divulge them here. But here's a clue: in Q1 of 2016, Apple sold about 75M iPhones and 16M iPads. In the same time frame, Apple sold "only" 5M Macs. Where do you think they will concentrate their effort?
