I downloaded watch OS 2 and now get the error when I click on mail : waiting for messages to be transferred from your iPhone : I keep getting the error . Any suggestions how to fix it?

Moreover, my watchOS no longer connects to the contacts list to retrieve names in the database. The text messages are also not retrievable on iwatch.

Contacts list did get corrected by the online solution by another user. Go to settings, reset, reset database. Nothing happens on screen but the names are popping up.

The mail issue remains
