Can't reply to message in watchOS 2

The only fix I have found is doing an unpaid internships, allowing the watch to erase all content, and setting it up as new. It's resolved the issue but I still experience lag time in the voice dictation to text.

Wow...having to do an unpaid internship to fix messages on the Watch seems pretty harsh, not to mention costly and time consuming. :-)

I have the same issue. Messages are not mirroring. They also say they failed to deliver on the watch but say delevered via imessage on my iPhone. SMS funtionality id definitly broken in Beta 1.

ive got the same problem, when reciving a message it will show above the clock face after raiseing wirst but no reply button.. reply button only shows in the messages app, well for me anyway.. i also cant get message to send as a SMS either so i think its best to report the bug to apple and wait for Watch OS 2 Beta 2.

Same problem. Can't reply from Messages notifications anymore. Reading Messages notifications no longer marks them as read. Lastly, when I do go into the Messages app on the watch to respond, it tries to send everything as iMessage, regardless of contacts being SMS only. Fails to send every time. WatchOS 2 has made the messages app, one of the most useful features of the Apple Watch, virtually useless. I'd prefer not to erase all contents and settings for the third time (other times were just trying to get the watchOS 2 finish installing). Anyone know a different fix, or if it will actually fix it by erasing all contents and settings?

No it will not, this is an issue with Beta 1.

I've restored even my iPhone on iOS 9 and it still doesnt work. I did everything possible but its a no go. Beta 1, even though it mirrors the phone, is unable to "Send as SMS" like the iphone does. Prior to Beta 1 it was working so not sure what or why they change in order for this feature to break.

This is an issue with Beta 1. When an app calls the presentTextInputControllerWithSuggestions method it fails and logs an error something like "Dictation is not supported in the simulator." Which to me means the watchOS 2 beta 1 thinks it's running on a simulator, not actual hardware.

Installing Beta 2 now and hoping for the best.

i have this issue with Beta 2 also.... i only have the dismiss option without reply.

I have not been able to send a single message since installing the beta. iMessage or SMS. I have a reply button and can choose from predefined replies or dictate a new message. And it even animates off and makes it's sound as thought the message has gone. But nothing gets sent. The recipient receives nothing and the message do not appear in messages on my iPhone. All messages just disappear as though they never existed. This has been the case since initially installing Beta 1 and now with Beta 2.

I have read some ambiguous message in these forums and can't really tell if others are having the same problem as me or not. Am I alone in not having anything send, at all, ever?

I can also confirm the issue persists in beta 2. I'm surpised this bug isn't listed in the Known Issues for watchOS beta 2.

Beta 2 and replys work for me

I'm referring to dictation in 3rd party apps via presentTextInputControllerWithSuggestions. Still broken but yes iMessage replys are now working with dictation.

You are not alone, in my case:

- Messages on the watch do not mirror anything on the phone, so they are empty.

- I dont have a reply button or anything in the notifications

- If i try to send a message it asks me where to send it (phone or mail), which is pretty odd

- If i send a message to the mail, it actually sends a mail :/

WatchOS 2 Beta 2

I am having the same issue as well. But mine just started out of no where. Ive had beta 2 installed since the first day. Today I can not send imessage or make or receive a phone call on my Watch. When i force touch to create a new message it always says that it fails but on my phone it is sent as a text. Trying to make a call freezes the watch. but yesterday everything worked. Battery life is down to 3-4 hours.

Same thing for me. I'm running the second beta since it came out and I had no problem until yesterday. Now the battery drains fast, no reply button when I recieve a message, sending a message shows me it failed on the apple watch but actually send it. Weird!

I've tried to reset it, unpair it, restore it. Nothing works.
