Does watchOS2 support push notifications?

I know watchOS2 has UDIDs -- my question is does it support push notifications? I am having to convert from group shared files and was hoping that watchOS2 would support push because that would be easier to implement (server side) than the code needed to support WCSession?

No, you cannot send push notifications directly to the watch.
