Help with third party developer

Hello

I am new to all of this and appreciate any help that I can get.

I am having a third party developer make me a simple app for iOS and Android.

The developer is saying that it is a Corona based iTunes app.

In order for me to test this app he is saying that I need to purchase an Enterprise Developer Account and to send him the account details so he can deploy it and I can play on my devices.

He says to make sure to create a CORONA based iTunes and gives me the following steps:

login

then click on developer account

then packages

then cocoa

select

corona

and then click on platform

select iphone and android

then select languages

lua

objective C

android SDK

java platform

then click on soft

in that select supported files

then click on yes button

then click on packages

select packages

Does any of this make sense to anyone?

I have tried to enroll in an Enterprise Developer Account but it only allows me to sign up for the Individual Developer account.

The developer is saying that I cannot use an Individual Developer Account.

Thanks!

Paul

The Enterprise developer licence is for distributing an app to employees of your company, not to the app store. If the app is intended only for employees of your company, that's the route to take.

If that's not the case - I'm presuming, for the sake of giving a complete answer - , and the developer's just trying to find a way to send you a copy of your app so you can try it out, then you have a number of options. I think my first choice would be to pay attention to the developer program this week - I don't yet know the exact circumstances (this is new this week), but it's possible you don't actually need a developer licence to try your app out on a single personal device.

If not: I'm guessing the developer's not willing to register one of your devices on their own developer licence. They could use Testflight to get a copy of your app to you, but as I understand it the app would need to be approved by Apple and it would expire within a month.

You getting your own licence would be good because then you're in control of who gets the money from the app and your name appears on it on iTunes, but if it's an individual account the developer wouldn't be able to use it on your behalf (sharing your account username/password wouldn't be a good idea).

As to the actual instructions they've given you... I'm not in a place to say. It's evident that in order to develop an app for multiple platforms for you, they're not using non-native development tools not supported by Apple. It's possible that Corona's developer forums might help you better with that aspect.

There is no such process in iTunes Connect. What your developer seems to be saying is,

sign into your Corona developer account and do those things. If you don't have a Corona

account and your developer can't or won't use their account to create the apps for you

then you should either sign up for a Corona account or, find another developer who uses

native tools for each platform.

Hello Mr.Paul

I also started building an App and developer was asking me same steps to follow and get the account for them. and asked 300GBP for 3years and 600GBP for lifetime. What's the result you came up. I already have paid the full amounth blindly. What's the best I can do? What are the findings you have?
