Best way to ask for user date/time input?

Hello,

I'm relatively new to Swift and am having trouble deciding on the best path to get user input on a specific day/time. For example, user provides a date and time in order to search. DatePicker and PickerView are two options I've played around with building out, but after researching this problem people comment that these aren't used commonly, which is making me pause and ask the experts.

I need to limit date options to only today and future dates, which doesn't seem possible with DatePicker, so I'm leaning towards PickerView. Is there a different approach you would take? Thanks.

I’m going to presume you’re working on iOS (both OS X and iOS have ‘DatePicker’, but only iOS has ‘PickerView’).

In general, I strongly encourage you to use a date picker rather than try to roll your own solution. Choosing dates, in the general case, is very hard.

Can’t you use

minimumDate

for that?

Thanks eskimo. I will try to use DatePicker. I was having trouble getting minimumDate to work as I wanted to be set as today's date using NSDate() but I will try again. I must have been doing something wrong.
