Screenshot for app submission fits guidelines, but iTunes Connect says it doesn't

I am trying to submit a screenshot for my iPad app submission. The dimensions of the portrait screenshot (which was taken on a 3rd generation iPad) are 1536 x 2017, which according to this link, https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/iTunesConnect_Guide/Appendices/Properties.html#//apple_ref/doc/writerid/itc_screenshot_properties, should work for the app submission. I have cropped the status bar out of the screenshot, which according to the guidelines, I have a screenshot that should work. However, iTunes Connect says otherwise. 😢

  • 1536 x 2008 pixels for hi-res portrait (without status bar) minimum
  • 1536 x 2048 pixels for hi-res portrait (full screen) maximum

Perhaps you can look again for 2017 anything there?

Accepted Answer

I have never tried using such an in-between size. Although it does indeed say minimum / maximum on that page, screenshots I've used have always been exactly 1536 x 2008 or 1536 x 2048. Make sure they don't have an alpha channel too I think.

Thank you, I changed the size of the image to 1536 x 2008 and it worked.🙂

Knew it would - thanks for the followup and good luck in the store.

Do you mind telling me how you changed the resolution to that exact size? I'm having a lot of trouble getting mine to the exact number. Thanks!
