Hi,
I'm working with a small Bluetooth device (a heart rate monitor). I can successfully discover it and pair with it, and subscribe to its data. The problem is that every time I reset the device or the app and try to pair again, I get a "Bluetooth Pairing Request" dialog box where I have to press "Pair" to complete the pairing process. (The device doesn't have any security and doesn't require a PIN).
It's fine that this message appears the first time, but is there some way to have iOS remember that I have paired with the device in the past and not prompt me every time?
My app does not need to do anything with the device in the background, hence it does not implement any background modes. I thought that passing a CBCentralManagerOptionRestoreIdentifierKey might help, but this is not allowed for apps that don't have background processing.
The device I am working with is a prototype, so it's possible that the people who wrote the firmware didn't set it up correctly. If that's the case, I can ask them to make a change, if I know what to ask for.
Thanks,
Frank
