Creating a final cut pro plugin that is not an effect

Hi,


I want to create a plugin that will provide a service to users of Final Cut Pro, this plugin would not be an effect or generator for a video itself, but allow the user to interact with an existing webservice. I have looking into the FxPlug SDK but that does not seem to provide the stuff that I need, although it may still be possible. I have been unable to find any other SDK's for final cut pro to allow me to create the plugin that I want to.


The company I work had a plugin for FCP in the past (about 8 years ago) so there was a way to extend FCP. I would like to be able to add a menu item and get access to the documents that are currently loaded.


Is FxPlug the only SDK available or is there a way to extend the product like they was in the past?

As Apple release new final cut pro with extensions. Do you have any news on how to create extensions?

As mentioned above, you can use the Workflow Extensions SDK or you could also ingest and output FCPXML.
