Does apple allow to use tcpdump/libpcap for use in iPhone/iPad app

Hi ,

I'm planning to use tcpdump/libpcap for development of an iPhone/iPad app (basically for doing sniffing).

But i'm not sure will Apple allow it or not with iOS 8.0 onwards to be used in iPhone app development because libpcap needs to admin privilege.

Below is the reference link and also tcpdump will run only on jailbroken iphone/ipads ?

Please provide your comments.

Thanks

App Store apps can’t escalate privileges, and thus can’t use pcap.

Any other scenarios and outside of the scope of DevForums.
