Watch OS 2 beta unresponsive (lag) every few seconds

After upgrading to watch OS 2.0 (13S5254w) the watch's UI has a severe lag:

  1. Unresponsive to input (screen, motion, or buttons) for 1-5 seconds, then
  2. Smooth responsiveness for 1-4 seconds, then
  3. Repeat 1.

It's been installed for a few hours and doesn't appear to be trying to install any apps (installations could contribute to lags). It only has the operating system's native apps on it. I've experienced the lag since the upgrade completed. When upgrading I chose the option to make it a new device rather than installing from a backup. I upgraded from 1.0. I did have to reset it with the side buttons at about 75% complete during the last circle of the upgrade process since it hung there for over an hour. It came up and everything else seems to be working fine.

The lag makes it fairly unusable at the moment. Any ideas?

I solved this by erasing the watch and starting over. From the watch I went to:

Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase All Contents and Settings

I set it up as a new device again. It's working without the lag now! I hope this helps someone else. 🙂

This seems to have become the standard practice for most people, I to had to go through the reset process more than once before I got something that was even close to stable but it's still pretty buggy and the battery life on my phone has dropped significantly.

All part of the beta game unfortunatley, for sure it will get better : )
