How do I allote more RAM to Xcode 7?

I have looked in the Xcode pref's and did not see any way to assign Xcode more memory. I am not having any degraded performance issues I just maxxed out my RAM and want to increase Xcode's base allotment if possible.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

None of Apple's current OS's support assignment of physical memory to specific apps. Instead, apps grab a large virtual address space, and the system's virtual memory subsystem allocates real memory as needed.

I don't recall much in the way of complaining about Mac VM since about 10.4. Note, though, that if you've increased your physical RAM, you have less reason to want to manage it manually, not more. Assuming the Xcode is hungry for memory, then the extra RAM allows it to be fed without starving other running apps.

Max the physical ram. Confirm many tens of GB free space on the hard drive.

Thanks for the feedback. That explains why there is not way to assign ram the way you can in Lightroom.

I was just wondering about this, but as I noted earlier I have zero issues with my iMac's performance, but was willing to assign more memory to Xcode if I could.

I appreciate your help.
