Nightstand Mode

My initial understanding of this feature is that the watch doubles as a nightstand clock when charging and on its side at night. You could also set an alarm and use buttons to snooze or off.

What I see is that the clock part works for 15 seconds or so, then turns off. It doesnt come back on, which makes it useless as a nightstand clock. Anyone else seeing this?

Yup, same from me, it works as described but then screen turns off. It does however react to touch, or indeed any kind of vibration. tap anywhere near the area of the watch when it's screen is off and the number display returns. I like you though would prefer a persistent display especially as the watch has to be charging fro the nightstand mode to work.

I too noticed the vibration part as well. Without the persistent clock, its usefullness is way less. I read elsewhere that the alarm volume and sound is a bit harse, but have no personal experience.

After it was clear it failed in this manner, I just used my phone, which is the norm for me anyway.

Wise move, me too : )

In time it will get there though I think we're all in for a bumpy ride over the coming weeks and months.

I read in another forum that the Apple Watch will overheat if the display is on for too long, so it may never have a mode where it's on continuously.

AMOLED displays will also burn in.
