How to downgrade Watch OS 2 beta
How to downgrade Watch OS 2 beta
Can't tell if this is a serious question. There have been tons of threads discussing this on this forum.
Answer is that Apple currently has not revealed any mechanism to downgrade the watch.
Return it to the Apple store if its within the return policy. Apple may be able to downgrade it, but rumor has it they may try to charge you to get the Apple Watch working again.
They cannot downgrade in the store at all and they may not be able to replace it at all.
As an Apple Developer you forefit all abilities to utilize Apple's Retail Stores, Genius Bar and AppleCare Contact Centers to troubelshoot or provide any assistance to devices being used for development and testing of new software. Apple advised in the Watch OS 2 Transition Guide that you cannot return an Apple Watch back to Watch OS 1.0.1 after you put the Watch OS 2 Beta on the devivce.
Clearly too extreme a statement. Maybe be somewhat true for the beta software itself, but not the hardware.
It's a completely accurate statement.
Yes they are charging and OOW fee for this. Not sure of the price.
i had read it is $35 to reflash the watch with 1.01. ok i got word from apple care it self they support developer hardware. so if you drop it or what ever its covered. he made no mention of reflashing but like i stated i read it is $35 to have the apple store re-flash it. so all apple needs to do is sell a watch cable to devs (because we should be able to roll up and down to test our apps.) with a limit of 2 per dev account (to avoid them getting out to the public) if we ask enough im sure they will think about it.
Setup a Send In Repair via the Apple Chat Support saying it just won't boot or something. They will ship you out a box free of charge overnight and you can send it in with overnight service and usually same day turn around with the O/S Restored to 1.01. I just did this with Apple so I know it works.
I think the only way to downgrade on your own is to have a back up from 1.0.1 and once paired gives you an option to restore a back up...
This is a sour subject for anyone who "Updated" to WatchOS Beta.. The only way to downgrade your Apple Watch is to send it to Apple. The best way to do is setting up Express Repair. Apple will send you a new watch face via FedEx (overnight) once you get it you must send yours back to apple. Apple will put a "hold" on your debit/credit card for the amount of the watch model you have. Until yours arrives to the Apple Deopt. Hope this was helpful, and i am deeply sorry this has happend to so many users! Best Wishes
