Is it possible to develop an emoji app where the emoji I develop can be directly integrated into the iPhone's native emoji panel? I'd like to create a panel of 40 emoji (that's the number of emoji that display on my screen at any given time as I scroll through them - I have an iPhone 6 plus). It's critical that these emoji seamlessly integrate into the native emoji panel to create a quality user experience. If they're not accessible through that panel once the app is downloaded and installed, the user is much less likely to use them, as people don't want to fish around their phone searching for emoji. Thanks.
Integrating new emoji into native emoji panel on iPhone keypad
Hello,
I know that this question is a year old, but we actually have the same question.
Is it possible to design emoji's and insert them in the native emoji keyboard?
Is there already an answer from Apple on this case/question?
Thanks in advance,
Dieter
It is not possible to add Emoji to the system Emoji keyboard. In fact, it's not possible to modify any system keyboard, for good reason.
However, you can make your own custom keyboard. The user can install your app, enable the custom keyboard (Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards), and then switch to the keyboard just like they switch to the system Emoji keyboard. See the Custom Keyboard App Extension documentation for details.
