Hi,

We have an app that advertises in the background and being able to persistently advertise in the background is a core feature of our app.. We've noticed as of the public iOS 10 beta (could be older) that our app, and seemingly every other advertising app, stops advertising when the phone is locked. Is this intentional, a bug or something that we have to request additional permission from the user to do in iOS 10?

If it is a bug, I am happy to file a radar. I just wanted to find some clarification on whether or not this is the case.

Apple closed my bug as a duplicate of 27493422. Which is in open state ATM. The DTS responded with:

There is no workaround DTS can provide for bug report #28208080, it is still under investigation. Please continue to track the problem via the bug report. We also recommend you try to reproduce the issue on future beta releases to see if the problem still happens on the latest versions.

So we are waiting for new iOS 10.1 beta.

iOS 10.1 Beta fixed that issue!

Advertise in background (even if screen is locked, its still advertise).

yes, it advertises but it doesnt answer to dynamic writes or reads for me so I cant USE the thing while in background

trying the 1st beta of ios 10.1 still does not work, as it did in ios 9

my kevo lock will not work with the screen off, it does seem to work with the app running in the background.

hopefully the next beta will fix it.

It seems that the public 10.0.2 release that just came out fixes the issues we've been seeing. Hope all of you are seeing similar results.

Looks like you are right! It works again with iOS 10.02. I have not tested yet the long-haul (24 hours, 48 hours, etc).

When I'm seaching for an iOS device on 10.1 I'm only able to discover my device either when the app is in the foreground or the phone is locked, but not if the phone is on but the app is not in the foreground. I'm searching for that device using a specific service, if I use an app like "LightBlue" which searches for all services, then I'm able to discover my device at all times.

Anyone else have similar results?
