Stuck on "Installing Symbols for watchOS"

Since updating to watchOS 3 beta4, iOS 10 beta 4 and Xcode 8 beta4, I can no longer install and run apps from Xcode on my Apple Watch. I have made sure I have installed the beta4 configuration profiles for both iOS 10 and watchOS 3. I've made sure that my AppleID session has not expired in Xcode. I've unplugged/re-plugged the lightning cable multiple times. I've reset the AppleWatch at least 3 times and set it up again as a new device. Each time, Xcode will appear to start installing symbols by showing this line at the top/center of the Xcode window:

Installing Symbols for watchOS 3.0 (14S5302d) with a progress indicator that spins but never finishes.

Even while this is showing I can try to run apps on the watch. They will install (apparently) and I'll start to see the animated generic icon when the attempt to run but eventually the watch will just return to the watch face.

Has anyone else seen this and, if so, do you know what the workaround is to be able to run apps from Xcode again?

Thanks!

I'm running into this too. Xcode gets stuck and stops responding. I'm not developing a Watch app either — I'm just trying to run the app on my iPhone.

After looking back at similar problems reported by developers from last summer's betas, I found that all I needed to do was to remove the following directory:

~/Library/Developer/Xcode/watchOS DeviceSupport

The symbols are stored there and wiping out all of them (including symbols from watchOS 2.x) seemed to take care of the problem. It's possible that you may only need to delete the directory in the "watchOS DeviceSupport" folder that pertains to the symbols for the latest release, but after I wiped the entire directory I was able to re-attach my test iPhone and watch and have the symbols load properly. After that, the appilcation ran on the watch just fine.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! This is the solution I have been seeking. and so succinct!
