Hi good peopl
I'm trying to test a homegateway at my job, and one of the thing I'd like to do, is to simulate a user leaving and comming back ( disconnecting - sleeping - connecting ). On Android it was pretty simple, I just created an app that takes commands and do accordingly. It is my experience so far, that this is not possible on a non-jailbroken iPhone/iPad with the standard APK's.
Therefore I'm looking for different ways to turn off the WiFi on an iPhone/iPad. The closest I've been is by sending deauth signals to the unit from the gateway or an external antenna. While this works fine, the iPhone/iPad won't reconnect automaticly, and needs user interaction. Since this is supposed to be an automatic test, I can't use that solution.
At the moment, and I don't like it, our solution is using a faraday cage with a lid, and having an actuator opening and closing this.
I really hope somebody on here got some great ideas - it sound pretty simple, right? Remotely temporarily disconnecting from WiFi.
I do hope some of you guys have any idea how to do this, with or without external hardware 🙂
Have a great day,
Benjamin Larsen
