How to get review from users

Hi everybody and the apple engineers:

I have developed and submited an App to Appstore. After launch and running sometimes , this App will show an alertview to ask the user to review. The alertview show something like this: "Please spend just one minute to review our app, and we will do better!". There is only one button "OK" in the alertview, after the user clicked "OK" button, it will jump to the Appstore page to write review.

Now my app is on the Appstore and user can free download it. There are some reviews from the user, some reviews are 3 stars or upper, and others are just only 1 stars or 2 stars. Through this, I can know what the users think about my app and then do modification.

What I want to ask is : If my app does against the Apple rules because I have just only one "OK" button on the alertview to get the user review? If it does is, is my app will be setted offline from Appstore by Apple at anytime when Apple find it? Or Apple will send an alert email to me and ask me to modify this after 5 days?

Can some Apple engineer help me please?

In my opinion, whether or not Apple disapproves, forcing users to go to the review page is a great way to get lots of one star reviews.

When I use an app I want to use the app. I do not want the jarring experience of being kicked over to the App Store. If it's a great app, I'll write a review without being prompted / bribed / whatever. For me, any nagging / begging / forcing me to write reviews is going to dramatically increase the chance of me writing a crappy review. Maybe that's just me, but I doubt it.

You get many review by beeing great or by sucking. Ok by annoying the users you will probably get 1 stars, too. If you need feedback better provide a feedback form in your app people can use when they miss something.

Thanks for ur replies.

Now I don`t mind whether or not I get the 1 star reviews; I care that whether or not my app could be setted offline by Apple because my alertview only have an "OK" button and directly jump to review page?

You should always give users an option. No one wants to be forced to do anything. I'd suggest an event that if the user chooses a "Not now" button on your AlertView that in 30m of gameplay they will see the AlertView again and also add a "Never ask again" option.

You can also create incentive for your user to review the app. Perhaps a powerup or other small progressive options.

You can jump to a review page, but you can't ask for any kind of specific rating.

Yes, I just say "Please rate us, and we will do better", I don't ask users to give a 5 stars reviews. So it is OK

i just need the options from users, so I do without "Not now" or "Never show again" button

You're going to get more bad than good reviews if you force users to review it. If an app told me "You have to review me" I'd uninstall it and likely leave a bad review.

The people that will help you improve your app are the ones who want to review it. Not the ones who are forced to.

I would say that forcing the user to jump out of the app by showing an alert with just an OK button is a violation of Apple's guidelines about manipulating user reviews.
