Provisioning Profile setup for Service Extension

I want to setup notttification service extension for my application and I understand that a Notification Service Extension is it’s own binary that is bundled with the application and it must be set up in the Apple Developer Portal with it’s own App ID . Does it mean that it needs to be setup on the same Provisioning Profile or it needs sepreate Provisioning Profile and does it have push notification enabled ?
