Apple Business Manager & BYOD device enrollment

Dears,

For BYOD devices, especially personal devices, what are the ways we can enroll the devices to ABM?

We are looking for a way to do this which can be done by the users them self by using a website or app.

Also to remove the device later from a console.

Hi there, so we can better answer your question it would be great to understand the motivation behind wanting to add personally owned devices to ABM. In general, devices in ABM are owned by the organization.

Last year we introduced a new feature called User Enrollment targeted at BYOD deployments. This feature not only protects the user's privacy but ensures that the organization isn't collecting personally identifiable information. Check out the WWDC 2019 session "What's New in Managing Apple Devices" starting at 9:23 to learn more.

For organization owned devices that may have been purchased outside of ABM. You can add them to ABM using Apple Configurator 2. This does require the devices be erased and re-provisioned. For additional information on this feature check out What's New in Device Configuration, Deployment, and Management from WWDC 2017 at 5:20.
Are there any instructions on how to set up User Enrollment for BYOD deployments? We are trying to do this at a mid-size company with a limited IT department. We have an app completed but are running into the issue of how to deploy. We are trying to avoid having every user search for his/her UDID manually. Any help would be appreciated.
Our company is small and just trying to figure out how to deploy 1 custom app. Our requirements are:

a) BYOD - our team owns their own devices, so we cannot wipe/reprovision
b) Do not want to register individual user UDIDs - our team is too big for this to be feasible

We have received conflicting advice on which deployment path to choose. We have considered the following:
1) Deploy via testflight: Did not work because required re-install every 90 days
2) Deploy "ad-hoc" via SimpleMDM or JAMF using User Enrollment: Was unable to install the apps, presumably due to not having UDIDs
3) Upgrade to an enterprise account and deploy: Not tested; unsure if our company meets requirements
4) Use ABM with SimpleMDM: Couldn't get this to work either. Was able to push the app but was not able to install

Any help would be appreciated. We are just looking for a way deploy 1 custom app to BYOD devices throughout our small organization.

It almost feels like Apple does not care for custom apps that target small sized companies where they do not own their own devices and cannot afford expensive MDM solution. I've spent tremendous time developing the app by myself and now stuck because there is literally no way for the custom apps to be downloaded buy BYOD users even if I've signed them up with apple business manager to the organisation. Test flight is the only working solution for now but as stated on the comments, only temporary. I've seen on some websites that redeemable code can be used, however it seems like they don't provide this option anymore either.

Simply the worst depriving developer experience.
