Catalyst Apps and DTK

Should Catalyst apps worry about the transition to Apple Silicon and apply for the DTK?

Since the base of Catalyst apps are iPad apps that compile and run on Apple Silicon, unsure if Catalyst will present challenges for the transition or if it will be done "auto-magically".
Accepted Answer
Catalyst apps are still macOS apps that will need to be rebuilt as Universal 2 to support Apple Silicon natively. As long as your app doesn't have low-level changes that depend on or expect certain architecture, this should be as straightforward as building for the "Any Mac" destination using the Xcode 12 for macOS Universal Apps beta. Any dependencies you have will also need to be ported. If you do have low-level changes, you can find more advice on porting through the WWDC20 session "Port your Mac app to Apple Silicon" (https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2020/10214/).
