Hi there,
I’m missing guidelines how to decide for which UI elements pointer snapping shall be enabled. Even when looking through the stock iPadOS 14 apps, pointer snapping doesn’t seem to used consistently.
For example, the text-only “Today” (no background, no icon) button in the updated Calendar app uses snapping, while in other places text-only buttons do not use this behavior.
Another example is the new transportation mode selector UI element for navigation in Maps. This one uses snapping, while the visually very similar UI for selecting alternative departures when navigating public transportation does not.
