Multichannel AAC in HLS on Apple TV decoded as stereo

I just finished watching the "Deliver a better HLS audio experience" session and it seemed like multichannel AAC should work, even though some devices may decode it as stereo.

I'd assume Apple TV to be one of the devices that decode full multichannel AAC, because the route definitely supports it (it outputs 7.1 PCM to the receiver), however this doesn't seem to be the case even with tvOS 14 beta. Is this intentional?
Currently multichannel AAC is only available on macOS.

We will announce if / when it becomes available on other platforms (or at least make sure it gets mentioned in the release notes).
Thank you! Does multi channel FLAC work on Apple TV? Our pipeline requires some extra work to add Flac support, I'd like to know this before I start working on it.

Multi-channel FLAC and the Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) are both supported on tvOS 14, iOS 14 and macOS 11.
