I have the same issue - the current Big Sur install version is 11.0.1. I’m upgrading my MacBook Pro 13” 2019 from the very latest Catalina update (all security etc updates done also).
When Big Sur restarts the Mac to install I also get a very brief red flash on the Apple symbol and then approx 60 secs later I get “Storage system verify or repair failed. : (-69716)” .
I really want to update so this is quite frustrating - any ideas?

Have you found a solution guys? i have the same issue here even with the Big Sur 11.1
