Xcode stops responding on Mac iOS when updating via App Updates. It happens most of the time but this time it has taken 3 days and still no response. I'm sure someone will ask if I have enough memory or disk space and the answer is yes to both questions. Also I have closed out Xcode and it's corresponding projects, as well as any simulators. When I go to launch apps the progress shows that I am at 1.44GB out of 1.44GB. This indicates to me that the program has locked up somewhere and there is not much else I can do about it. With the numerous reboots Mac iOS is beginning to feel a lot like Windows, however at least in windows I get some kind of error message that indicates what the problem could be. Mac OS is simply hanging up with no error(I guess hoping I will figure it out). If there is no way to move forward i.e. the update is not compatible with my system, then I should be able to revert back to the previous version that worked right? Not working as well. I am completely frustrated with these 'update experimental gauntlets'. I am a nobody but there are many nobody's like me and at some point Apple will have to respond with a solution.
Why does Xcode 11.6 stop responding when installing on Mac iOS
Define 'enough' memory and disc free space in numbers, pls.
I remember I had a similar issue when loading from App Store a few months ago.
Did you try to load from https://developer.apple.com/download/more/
Then you can rename the old Xcode as Xcode 11.x and unzip and install the download.
What do you mean Mac iOS ?
