I am trying to archive an app in xcode, this is the very first time I am doing this. I don't have an iOS device on me ATM nor the paid developer membership, just learning (please go easy on me).
In xcode's Preferences>Account I added my Apple ID which created a Personal team under my name, but the role says User. AFAIK should say "Free"? Under View Details where should be Create buttons for all options there are some of them missing, rest of them greyed out and nothing for me to do: http://prntscr.com/cswwoy
When I select the Personal team as the developer team in the project's General settings>Signing I immediately get a warning that I haven't registered a device:
Failed to create provisioning profile.
There are no devices registered in your account on the developer website. Plug in and select a device to have Xcode register it.
So, to archive the app it is necessary to first register an iOS device?
