HLS and SAMPLE-AES royalties and licenses

Hello,
I would like to ask if there are any royalties, patents, licenses that need to be paid for use of HLS technology alongside SAMPLE-AES (Apple Music integration). Unfortunately I cannot find such information anywhere :-(.

There are no licenses or fees associated with HLS per se. Specific codecs may have license requirements, but those are independent of HLS.

It is misleading to refer to SAMPLE-AES as "Apple Music Integration". SAMPLE-AES simply refers to the encryption method. It does not specify how or where keys are recovered.
