External drive no longer showing up in Files

Using iPadOS 14 beta 6 now on iPad Pro 12.9 2018. I purchased a LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt/USB C 4tb drive. I immediately formatted it exFAT because I’m transferring images from an older LaCie RAID attached to a PC. When I initially formatted, the drive was found in the Files app. I loaded the contents of one drive onto the new one and it once again showed up, populated with files, and I was able to view photos.

I loaded a bunch more (about 750gb) more files and tried to confirm again, but now it doesn’t show up in the Files app. It still shows up and populates on my PC. Sometimes when I unplug the drive, a few seconds later it’ll pop up in the locations list, but then disappears again.

I updated to beta 6 today hoping that might solve the issue. It didn’t.

I tried the old trick of renaming the drive “dcim”, but that also didn’t work.

I had success both plugging the drive in directly via usb c and via a powered hub. Now neither prompt ios to show the drive.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
