Hi guys,
i want to play a 5.1 surround video as spacial audio on iOS14 with AirPods Pro.

Can i simply use the onboard player in iOS?

What do I have to consider when exporting a video so that it plays correctly as spacial audio?

Which video format is recommended?

Are you asking about headphone motion with AirPods Pro? Apart from a user-level setting (in Settings) to turn it on or off, there's nothing you should need to do, other than to use AVPlayer to play your video.

Yes, i am using the AirPods Pro and the settings are enabled to play back 3D Audio. With the iOS Apple TV App it works fine and i can playback e.g. "Greyhound" in fully surround audio with head tracking.

But when i play back an own .mp4 or .mov Video with 5.1 Sound (6 discrete Audio Channels) it doesn't work and i only hear the sound as stereo without any head tracking.

I got the info that it might be because the video needs to be specially encoded for 3D audio.
Do you have an idea?
