Is there any inbuilt functionality available in MacOS which can be used to create a periodic timer which calls a customized function after timer expires every time and additionally which also gives the elapsed time whenever timer expires so that the caller gets to know the delay in timer if it takes more than its periodicity to expire? Couldn't find any such api which gives the elapsed time.
