I upgraded my Mac mini to macOS Catalina recently. I have Home Sharing turned on. After launching the TV application for the first time there are six playlist folders that are listed in the Playlists section under the Movies tab on my Apple TV that aren't listed in the TV application on my Mac mini.
Mike's Playlists (folder)
.....Good Playlists (folder)
..........My CDs (folder)
..........2017 Reunion (folder)
..........Bob Dylan (smart playlist icon)
Mike's Playlists (folder)
.....Good Playlists (folder)
Mike's Playlists (folder)
.....Good Playlists (folder)
Special Playlists (folder)
.....10 smart playlist icons
Special Playlists (folder)
.....One smart playlist icon
Special Playlists (folder)
.....One smart playlist icon
As a test, I opened the Music app and renamed the Mike's Playlist folder there and saw that only the first of the three Mike's Playlists folders on my Apple TV was renamed. I then renamed a folder inside that Mike's Playlists folder in Music and saw that the same folder inside the Apple TV's Mike's Playlists folder changed its name.
I did the same thing for the Special Playlist folder that I have in Music and saw that only one of the three Special Playlists folders on my Apple TV changed its name. And the one that did change its name doesn't contain all of the smart playlists that the folder in Music has in it (likewise for the Mike's Playlists folder).
So 2 of the 6 strange playlists folders under Movies on my Apple TV are definitely connected to the Music application somehow but don't contain everything that the Music app folders have in them and the other 4 playlists don't appear to have any connection to the Music app. And there are a bunch of playlists in the Music application that thankfully don't appear on the Apple TV.
Where are the files containing the playlists for the Music and TV applications located on a Mac? Any ideas what I can do to make all 6 of those unwanted playlists folders disappear from my Apple TV? Is there a way to have the TV application rebuild its playlist file?
