This forum system needs work. It does not even have the most basic functionality. There is no way to track and return to the items you have submitted (i.e. to add new information or view or check for replies). I have just spent over an hour trying to find the question I posted a few days ago, and STILL did not find it. There is not even a meaningful categorization of forums. There should be individual forums BY TOPIC rather than just the vague search by keyword widget. Something as basic as seeing all posts, sorted by newest first, pertaining to a particular technology is not possible. Or if it is possible, it is a very well-hidden feature. It is unbelievable. So if I want to return to a post I entered to add new information, what do I do? My post got eaten up by a black hole, it seems.
Basic Forums functionality lacking
Indeed.This forum system needs work.
There’s two different tasks here:There is no way to track and return to the items you have submitted …
Threads that you created
Threads that you’ve contributed to
For the first task there are two solutions that work:
In the search box you can enter the query user:claudiofriederich. You can then add tags (using [tag] syntax) and other text to help narrow down that search.
For a flat list of threads that you created, click your avatar in the top right and then click your user name (directly above Edit Profile but not on Edit Profile).
Correct. Again, the folks who run DevForums are well aware of the need for this.Something as basic as seeing all posts, sorted by newest first,
pertaining to a particular technology is not possible.
