Hi

So we have a legacy App which relies on UDP broadcasts to function, this App no longer seems to work on some devices on iOS 14. I believe this may be because we need to apply the
Multicast Networking Entitlement Request

I've applied for this but I've received nothing since, should I just expect radio silence, is there someway of knowing when I might get a response?

Got my approval through out-of-the-blue yesterday, thank you to whoever was working on a Sunday!

For anyone else it took about 5 calendar days.

Hi

Same situation here. I've applied for multicast entitlement yesterday and nothing happened. No emails, notifications, etc. Totally unclean what to do next.

The webpage confirms that my request has been received, but I've received no email or anything acknowledging my request? After contacting support and getting a canned response I had another go with the form, same result. Could you just check it's in a queue or something?

I'll wait 14 days and see if anything happens, after that I'll have to presume we're not going to get the derogation, it's hard to know if this application is just a formality?

The weird thing for us is our App seems to work fine on some older iPads running iOS 14 but not on some more modern iPads, leaves me wondering if this multicast entitlement is only being enforced on newer devices or if something else is going on, this is why we're only picking up on this later into iOS 14's life-cycle!

agree , quite strange request process : no email confirmation about request received, next steps are not clear , average processing time is very much unknown, how do I get notification about approved/rejected?
