I have a live iMessage extension and when I send a message to someone who currently does not have the app downloaded are shown the 'Get myApp' below the text. However, when the user taps on that they are just taken to the home page of the app store rather my individual app. How can I change that to open on my application in the app store?
Redirect to iMessage extension in App Store
You're seeing this because you probably have the development version of your own app installed on your device, not the one downloaded from the store. What you want to do is delete that, redownload the live version, then send a message / sticker to someone you've never sent to before and have them verify the link is going to the app. I'm 99.9% sure it is. A lot of us ran into this issue the first week when we still had our development versions installed.
Loosely related to this, here's a little fun fact. When sending out links to your app on Twitter, FB, directly to friends, change the store URL slightly. The part that ends with...
?ls=1&mt=8
Change it to...
?app=messages
And that will open the link in iMessages instead of the App Store app.
This worked for me. I was still using the development version but once I deleted and downloaded the live app from the store it linked to the apps page. Thanks for the tips CartoonSmart. 🙂
