UPDATE: Big Sur battery drain - Conclusion

Greetings Big Sur users!

I've written a post before about this topic and the problem isn't resolved as I expected. Following the methods I've found on the official community page of apple and from 3rd party suggestions I came to the conclusion that it's way deeper in optimization of the OS.

I've reset the SMC, PRAM/NVRAM and run Diagnostics (at the request of Apple Support) - no issues to report except that now I can't access recovery mode which would be necessary to reinstall the OS. I almost always see the 'Using significant energy' alert when I'm using Safari - which is always, however at most, I've got only a few tabs open (not more than 3). I'm not running any other applications, since.

Many suggest to disable the ¨Spotlight app.¨ for most categories (this got me less energy use in general from the battery).

Some others who are using Chrome or any Chromium based browser faced issues with ¨Chrome Helper¨ constantly running in the background without the Battery Monitor showing its significant drain - stopping this process (from the Activity Monitor) gave most users a better image of their battery time. (I use Safari so that's not the case for me)

In conclusion of trying every method suggested, I would like some response from the Users and Apple himself about this topic.

Thank you for your attention!

I had the battery drain issue, but solved it. I could see in Activity Monitor that it was Chrome and "Google Chrome Helper" that were draining the battery. The fix was so completely uninstall and re-install Chrome. This involves removing the app, then deleting the Google Chrome folder ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome, then rebooting and re-downloading Chrome. This seems to have completely fixed the issue.
this is the first and last time i buy a mac .
I bought a macbook pro at 8/2020. one of the reasons i bought it was b/c it had a 6 hours battery life that was needed for me for meetings all over the day

after an upgrade to big sur battery went from 6 hours to 3 hours which made my laptop non functional for me

took it to the official apple lab and it was reported as without an issue - they installed big sur from scratch but still no solution. stil 3 hours or less before battery is dead

I called apple - i have a recording of an apple senior rep telling me that big sur is a problem and they know about it fr many different case . he recommended to me to downgrade the os if i want to keep the charge for (for good!) - this is a 6 months old Mac !! and they expect me to stay with an old OS for good. Is this a joke ? i need help take this mac from me or replace with a newer model such as the M1 which i understand has a better battery

otherwise ill have to go to court - this is outrageous. a laptop that cost 1300$ ! in the meanwhile i am plaiing to report this in the local forums and consult with the designers community as there are thousands f users that suffer from the same issue
