Interrupting MacOS Big Sur upgrade

Was upgrading to Big Sur - cleared space needed to download. Downloaded successful. Started install. Installer demanded another 20GB of free space for install.

How do I interrupt and remove downloaded package from this point?

Thanks in advance.

Got it - just needed to wake up. Exited upgrade, opened Finder, found upgrade package under Applications (missed first time I looked), trashed it, emptied trash and got my storage back.

Found installer somewhat misleading - may just have been lack of due diligence on my part. When downloading was told needed at least 12+GB to download. Freed up the space. Then when into install process was told needed another 20GB to install. If had known full requirement before downloading or before starting install, wouldn't have started. Not the best user experience.
